A man from Leister, United Kingdom experienced back pain from about the age of 17. At 27, he was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, a disease that fuses the spine together and makes a person increasingly less supple. He was at the stage where he needed to lie down several times a day because of the pain. In the night, his rib cage would go into spasms, so he would be unable to breathe for 30 seconds or a minute, but felt much longer to him. He had received prayer maybe 1,000 times. Every time someone gave a word about backs, he went forward. He went to a doctor who described his back like a car in a traffic jam. He said, "We can't stop the car from getting to the end of the road, but we can slow it down. As soon as it gets to the end of the road, it will be really bad."
Looking back at that moment, the man said, "When I heard that, I refused to believe the word of an expert over the Word of God. So I prayed to God that he would stop the car." He then went for prayer at his church and felt heat go down his spine. He knew something had happened, and could tell there was a difference. He went in for an MRI, and they said the disease had stopped. He now lives a normal life, even years after receiving prayer. He ran a marathon, is able to pick up his kids, and can play with them.
