A smaller team of senior leaders have been actioning immediate decisions and ensuring leadership oversight in the areas that we are reviewing and changing. Our Board of Elders is also meeting more frequently with members of this smaller team to provide input, oversight, and accountability.
We have engaged in ongoing conversations with our community—including those impacted by recent events, current and former students, staff, and trusted outside voices. We are establishing clear accountability structures that prioritize integrity and the safety of everyone engaging with Bethel, both inside and outside the organization. We seek to uphold the standards Scripture sets for our leadership and culture. As a result, we're committed to a continued journey of sober reflection and concrete action.
Bethel Church’s Community Guidelines and Safe Church process exist to continue the work of revival through supporting physical, emotional, and spiritual health within the Bethel community, and to provide a safe place if an unhealthy or unacceptable interaction or experience should take place.
