At 20 years old, a woman’s left ovary and tube were removed because of endometriosis, which can cause infertility. She was told then that her chances of having children were slim. God had other plans, and at age 34, she had a son. Her ex-husband left her when she was pregnant with her son. Seven years later, she met her current husband, and they married in 1997. In 1999, her husband had his vasectomy reversed. He had a vasectomy years before, and the doctor told him the chances of success weren’t good since it had been ten years. She had three doctors tell her, “You are in your 40s with endometriosis and no left ovary or tube, and your husband had a vasectomy reversed, so I do not believe it’s possible for you to conceive.”
God kept reminding her that when her son was a baby, He had told her she would have another baby named Jesse. In 2002, she got pregnant. She said, “Glory hallelujah, another miracle!” While she was getting her ultrasound when she was five months pregnant, within a minute, the doctor said, “I am so sorry. You have a tremendous amount of amniotic fluid, and this opening at the base of your baby’s brain will continue to enlarge. It’s too much pressure on her brain. You will need genetic counseling to prepare for a developmentally disabled child.” Fear hit her like a truck, but the Spirit of God arose within her, and she declared, “I am 44 years old, with no left ovary or tube because of endometriosis, which can cause infertility. My husband had a reverse vasectomy, and our baby is a miracle, so we are sure she will be fine. Thanks for letting us know. For now, we know how to pray!” The doctor said, “You are 44? Wow! Well, I will pray, too!”
Later that day, the Lord said, “You can go to genetic counseling and prepare for what the doctor said, or you can not go and prepare for what I said. It's up to you!” They did not attend genetic counseling. She had to fight the good fight of faith, combatting fear for three days. On the third day, unrelenting fear left, and for the remainder of her pregnancy, she carried the supernatural peace of the Lord. At the time of this writing, Jesse was 15 and had been in accelerated classes since fourth grade. She was a 4.0 student, in the J.R.O.T.C. at her high school and also on the precision air rifle team. She also was in Junior Civil Air Patrol and in tenth-grade honors English as a freshman. Her mom has shared her testimony with many women, who were told they couldn’t get pregnant, and just like God does, they were able to conceive children!
