On October 26, 2025, Hurricane Melissa made landfall on the island of Jamaica.
Hurricane Melissa was a Category 5 hurricane with sustained winds reported at around 185 mph left the southwestern part of Jamaica (the parish of St. Elizabeth / town of Black River) with extreme damage: entire communities were flooded, homes were destroyed, and hospitals were damaged.
The storm has left the region in a state of crisis.
In disasters like these, the damage can feel overwhelming, not just in the physical, but in the hearts of a community.
Though the scope of the work is far beyond what we could accomplish in our human efforts, we know one thing to be true — the mandate is clear and the invitation simple: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13:34.
We know the circumstances are overwhelming, but the Lord does not turn a blind eye to the poor in spirit or retreat from the broken-hearted; rather, he rushes toward them.
Bethel Global Response is sending a team to Jamaica and wanted to invite you to partner with us in prayer and support.
If you feel led to support Bethel Global Response initiatives financially, you can do so here.

Bethel Global Response oversees a team of over 1,000 people who are trained to respond to disasters. While carrying the atmosphere of heaven, we tangibly display the love of Jesus by meeting physical needs through ash outs, relief and recovery training, food distribution, and more. We meet people in moments of crisis with hope and love. Through these divine opportunities, we see life restored and people beginning to dream again.
