Don Mayer

BCS Principal

Don Mayer holds a BA in Business and Human Recourse Management from Simpson University and he has a School Administrators Certificate from the Association of Christian Schools International. He also earned a Masters in Education form Regent University in 2016. He joined the staff of BCS in May of 1997. Under Don’s leadership, the school has experienced the freedom to prosper in character, creativity, and in expression to love God and each other. His Father’s Heart graces the staff and our students daily. Don believes that one who teaches a child is more important than the things taught. It is not that the content of classroom instruction is irrelevant; on the contrary it is of the utmost of importance. But, of even greater importance is the teacher’s core values; what drives them.

Jesus emphasized this when he said,“Everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.” Luke 6:40.Additionally a school needs to be an environment that stimulates learning and it is the teacher that provides this environment. For the students of BCS, school is a place of learning and a place of spiritual development; a place to grow and test their faith in Christ. Don loves to see kids come alive, whether it is in worship, winning in sports, or academic success. When he sees kids hope then he knows that he has done something right.

Don and his wife Cathy (our 4th Grade Math Teacher) have three grown children that have all attended BCS prior to Don becoming principal. When he is not at school, he loves to spend time in the mountains, and traveling.
