I am, first and foremost, a child of God. I am also a mother, a wife, a teacher, a writer, and a missionary, having served in Mozambique, Africa, for 7 years, and now serve as the Child Education's Center International Education Overseer of our schools there. Before coming to Mozambique, I worked in Asian and African countries, immersing myself in their people, cultures, and ways of life. Connection is at the core of who I am and I am honored to have been so deeply impacted and connected to many people around the world.

I began my work in Mozambique because the Lord, very clearly and profoundly, told me to go when I was on a mission's trip there. I went in obedience and love, knowing that Jesus was at the helm of my heart, steering the ship of my future. With education as a tool to bring souls to Christ, I began teaching four- and five-year-old children under a mango tree. Before long, I had a beautiful school building of my own—and then two. Though finger painting and reading stories to littles were part of my gift mix, I raised up Mozambican teachers to work alongside the students and became the overseer of our schools. In working as the overseer, I was able to expand our work, initiating after-school programs, a children's church, feeding and community service programs, a playground, teacher trainings, and more in-depth curriculums. My hope was to impact, not only the teachers and the students, but their entire families and entire villages.

Education was my tool for the expansion of the kingdom. We now run three schools and multiple programs in two rural villages. They all continue to flourish and grow, which is a testimony of the Lord's goodness and how we have remained on track with what He has called us to do.
