The Passover story celebrates God’s redemption of His people from slavery in Egypt. However, it points to a greater redemption, Jesus’s death and resurrection on the cross.
The Last Supper was itself a Passover meal. Knowing that He would be put to death in a few hours, Jesus told His disciples, “I eagerly desired to celebrate this Passover with you before I suffer” (Luke 22:15). At this celebration, He took elements of the Passover (the unleavened bread and the cup) and identified them as His body and blood, symbolizing His death.
We will be going through the traditional elements of the Passover meal and seeing how they all point to Jesus remembering God’s freedom story and celebrating together the victory of Passover!
This will be a bring-and-share dinner, please bring either a main, side dish or dessert. Drinks and Passover elements are provided.
