On Friday, April 3, we will also be gathering at the Civic Auditorium for a city-wide Good Friday service with churches across Redding to draw near to the Lord and step into a deeper awareness of the great cost and supernatural work that Jesus paid for on the Cross.
Good Friday at the Civic Services: 4:00pm, 6:00pm, 8:00pm. There is no registration, but we encourage those without younger children attend the late one if possible to make room for the kids early.
Good Friday: Jesus’ substitutionary sacrificial suffering and death creates a way of restoration for all.
Prayer Focus:
-Behold the Lamb! Consider the way in which God the Son, eternally perfect and without sin, stood in our place and in some manner “became sin” so that we might become “the righteousness of God” (2 Cor. 5:21). We are washed clean of all our sin and no longer enslaved to its power and appetite for destruction. “The darling of heaven crucified—worthy is the lamb!”
-Meditate on the lengths God has gone to in order to uphold His justice and extend mercy to those who had opposed Him.
Scriptures for Today:
Psalm 22:1-18, Luke 22:66-71, 23:1-56
