As a leadership team, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Family Camp. We recognize that for many this year, finances are tighter and this has created a situation where many families are having to choose between Bethel Kids Camp, Young Saint Camp, and Family Camp. We feel that it is the right choice to cancel Family Camp, which will enable us to support families by sending some of our extra funding towards these other camps to help scholarship any child/youth that is not able to attend.

We would like to encourage you to still go camping with another Bethel family or two. Northern California has many beautiful spots to enjoy! Please also join us for other summer events: bethel.com/summer

Thank you for your grace and understanding, and we look forward to seeing you next year at Family Camp 2024!

Family Camp Highlights

Over the last two years, we've had over 800 people join us at Family Camp. Here are some highlights.

Single & Solo Campers

Bethel Family Camp is for the WHOLE Local Bethel Church Family—singles and families!

For our solo campers we want you to know that this is one of the best opportunities to get to know and hang out with other singles and families of all generations. We intentionally provide opportunities for you to jump in and feel easily included in activities, meals, and just hanging out.

We know that sometimes working out the details of camping as a single can be tricky, so we have a dedicated a solo camper lodge for same gender campers to stay together, which helps provide a connected and fun experience for our single campers. Make sure that you mark yourself as a solo camper to be a part of the singles lodge!

The camp has nice flat, prepared areas for tent camping around the lake and multiple “dry” RV camping sites. For those who prefer a more conference style camping experience, they offer lodges, with private bathrooms and laundry facilities included. Each lodge has 5 private rooms that can be reserved by families or groups and include two gender specific bathrooms with at total of 6 toilets, 6 sinks, and 6 showers.

Lodge & Private Room Options

Don’t want to tent camp or bring an RV? No problem—we’ve got your covered!

14 Lodges with over 70 private rooms are available to stay in at The Summit and all of them have gone through a major renovation, everything is new and we will be some of the first campers to enjoy this facility. Each Lodge has 2 gender specific restrooms with a total of 6 showers, 6 toilets and 6 sinks. Rooms will have between 4 and 12 beds in them for families and groups of all sizes. Your family or group will be assigned to a private room just for your family or group unless you request to share with another couple or family.  Most rooms have access to a walk out deck from your room.  Singles wanting to stay in one of the Lodges will be placed in a group with other same gender single campers to share a room.

Those staying in one of the Lodges will need to bring their own bedding for a twin size bed, pillow and bathroom linens (towel, washcloth, etc). There are washers and dryers in each bathroom if this is needed during your stay.

FAQ

General Questions
Can I bring my dog?
Expand FAQCollapse FAQ

Pets are not allowed at Family Camp this year. Yes, we are sad too.

How will we be celebrating on July 4th?
Expand FAQCollapse FAQ

Due to our close proximity to Redding, and the fact that we will be staying in a forested area where fireworks are not allowed, we have designed the schedule of the camp for everyone to be back in Redding to attend the July 4th Celebration there. We have plans to provide glowsticks, finger lights and other glowy things for the kids to celebrate.

But on Wednesday the 4th, the first session of camp will end by 5pm and campers may join in for an optional get together at the Redding fireworks display where we will have a saved space for anyone desiring to meet up with us.

Are meals provided?
Expand FAQ Item

This year we are experimenting with a more conference style “family camp” setup were all meals are included. The Summit has a full service kitchen and staff and all meals will be provided and the cost is included in your camp fee for the 4 days.  Meals will include options for those that are gluten free, dairy free or vegetarian.  If you have special dietary needs beyond these, please reach out to us to see how we can accommodate your needs.

Everyone is welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks that you enjoy or your children prefer as long as they don’t require any cooking.  There will also be a snack bar open in the afternoons and free treats offered each afternoon and evening.

Are there picnic tables?
Expand FAQ Item

There are plenty of tables and chairs in the dining hall and patio to accommodate all our campers. We do recommend you bring your own camp chairs to use for personal use throughout the camp. Tent and RV campers may still want to bring their own folding table for setup in their camp area.

Is there running water? Is there electricity?
Expand FAQ Item

For those staying in the Lodges there is electricity and running water available.

For those tent and RV camping there are no hookups at your campsite. There will be access to water to fill tanks on the property but not at your specific campsite.

All camping is considered “dry” camping with no water, electric or sewer at the tent/RV site. For RV’s there is no dump station on site.

Electricity is available in the lodges, dining hall and recreation center to charge devices, etc.

The Summit is unlike any “camping” location we have ever been to. It has more of a retreat or conference center feel, with all the amenities that you would experience there.  While still offering the opportunity to tent and RV camp for those that love the outdoor connection. We have rented out the entire campground for the full week and are excited about having the freedom to create a fully tailored experience for our Bethel Family full of optional recreational and group activities each day.
