Josh serves as the Director of Innovation for the Global Engagement and Justice Department (Missions) for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. He specializes in developing experiential discipleship and spiritual formation programs. Recent projects focused on Faith and Work and Ecological Discipleship. In response to the pandemic, Josh and his team created Via Divina, a series of audio-guided walking pilgrimages for spiritual formation that utilize engaging storytelling and embodied spiritual practices. Josh and Marjie moved to central East Oakland in 2004 to be a part of a small church community there that seeks the Shalom of their neighborhood and city (Jer. 29:7). Marjie is a social worker and clinical supervisor leading a team of therapists that work with severely emotionally disturbed children. They are the proud parents of their two daughters, Lucy and Bea.
