Event Details
We are excited to enjoy a day at the Lake together this Saturday, September 17! Below is some important information about joining us at the Brandy Creek beach area anytime between 10am-4pm. Thanks for your attention to these few things, we are blessed to be able to spend the day with our local church body. If you have any questions please email us at bethelredding.events@bethel.com.
Tickets and Check In
Ticketing was just a way for us to judge the number of people who would be joining us this Saturday so that we wouldn’t “overwhelm” the beach.. You will not be required to have or bring a ticket and there will be no “check-in” needed. If you have extra friends or family that would like to join us, they are welcome to.
Parking and Carpooling
Add INFO on parking pass and cost. A parking pass is required, and you will not be allowed to park without one. You only need one pass per vehicle which is a GREAT incentive to carpool and will help us to not overfill the parking lot. When you arrive, please park at Brandy Creek Lot B. We have been asked to only park in Lot B.
Lunch
We will be having a free Hot Dog bar with all the fixins for lunch and anyone at the beach, including our non-Bethel Redding neighbors are welcome to join us. So reach out and invite someone for lunch that is not a part of your group. Lunch is at 1pm. We ask that you bring a side or dessert to share with a serving spoon if needed. There will not be a place to cut up watermelons or other fruit or veggies so please bring those precut. When you arrive, bring your sides and desserts to the tables under our tents. We will have a few coolers with ice that you can put something that needs refrigeration, but it will be first come first serve as we wont have unlimited cooler space, feel free to bring you items in a cooler and bring out just prior to lunch at 1pm.
Activities
Bethel Lake day has been planned to be a come hang out and enjoy each other and bring your own fun day. We have intentionally not planned a lot of organized, large group activities. Part of why we felt to do this is we didn’t want the Redding community that was also trying to enjoy the beach to feel like we had completely taken it over. We will have a few games/equipment setup for volleyball, cornhole, etc. But you are encouraged to bring things you enjoy doing and invite a few people to join you and build some new community!! For you kayakers, we do have a group tour being led by one of our members starting at 10:30am.
If you are bringing a boat and are open to taking people for rides, please make an invitation sign and attach it or hold it up so that people know they can approach for a ride or to go tubing, etc.
Honoring the Beach
We want to honor Whiskeytown Lake and their staff. Please carry all garbage out with you when you go.
